Rome, March 30, 2022 - The success recorded by VeraPizzaContest, the international challenge for pizza chefs at home promoted by the AssociazioneVerace Pizza Napoletana - AVPN, which this year saw the ranking return to Italy, continues to grow. Among the 765 competing pizzas from 56 different nations, Stefano Di Filippo, from Salerno with pizza in his DNA, created the one that won the jury by placing itself in first place, silver medal for the Roman Vania Schiavonee bronze by Giacomo Guerrieri from Ancona, a trident that brings the entire podium of the competition back to Italy.

Looking at the overall numbers of this year's race, 56 countries competing, with Italians, Poles and Brazilians leading, by numbers, the competitors' patrol. Over 1300 pizzas were presented at VeraPizzaContest 2022, of which only 765 were admitted to the competition, generating a media tamtam on social media with over 95 milalike on the AVPN @verapizzanapoletana Facebook profile. Of these, only 50 finalists had access to the second phase of the challenge, which saw the meeting of an international jury composed of: Paolo Surace, president of the jury (Mattozzi in Piazza Carità - Naples), Luca Tudda (A'mmasciata - San Marco Argentano CS), Lucio De Falco (Lucio Pizzeria - Sidney, Australia), Kenji Shoji (Pizzeria Verde Ischia - Tsuruoka, Japan), DareenAkkad (What the Crust - Cairo, Egypt), Pasquale Mormile (Pulcinella 01 - Bourg en Bresse, France ), Rafael Olebinski (Forni Rossi - Poznan, Poland), Antonia Ricciardi (AVPN School - Granada, Spain), Gabriel Rossi (Ciao Pizzeria Napoletana - Porto Alegre, Brazil), Pasquale Illiano (Pasquale's Pizzeria - South Kingstown, USA).
A panel of experts who, based on qualification, cooking, palatability and topping requirements, chose as the best pizzas of the 2022 edition of the VeraPizzaContest those created by Stefano Di Filippo, TomekMadyś and Giacomo Guerrieriche respectively won the following courses for "signed" pizza chefs AVPN, together with the special prizes made available by the partners of the initiative (technical tools and product kits):
1st place: a 9-day basic professional course to be carried out at the AVPN School, in addition to the flight and stay in Naples, from 3 to 6 July, to participate in the finals of the True Neapolitan Pizza 2022 Olympics in the '' Amateurs category ''.
2nd place: a 3-day advanced professional course to be held at the AVPN School in addition to the flight to Naples from 3 to 6 July to participate in the finals of the True Neapolitan Pizza 2022 Olympics.
3rd place: a 4-hour amateur course to be held at the AVPN School, as well as a stay in Naples from 3 to 6 July to participate in the finals of the Real Neapolitan Pizza 2022 Olympics.
The 4th to 10th place finishers who qualify for the Pizza Olympics organized by AVPN from 3 to 6 July were also excellent: Kamil Lange, Dario Martino, Giuseppe Sbrescia, Davide Cormaci, Alba de Santis, Ciro Fiubettino and Armanda Finucci.
"For the first time, in fact, the Olympics will also host competitions reserved for non-professionals - concludes Antonio Pace - And it will be nice to see professionals and amateurs compete on the same days, all in the name of the product we all love.
