Vera Pizza Day is back: the 24-hour marathon around the world that kicks off the 40th AVPN’s anniversary

On Wednesday, January 17th, live streaming on the @pizzanapoletanaverace YouTube channel.

16 countries, 22 masterclasses in 11 languages: from Australia to the States passing through all the continents with the novelty of the first masterclass in Chinese and the debut of Chile and Peru.

The countdown begins for the fourth edition of Vera Pizza Day, the event that crosses all continents to celebrate the representative product of the Bel Paese. This will be the first event on the AVPN calendar of 2024, which will see the association celebrate 40 years of history through a rich calendar of initiatives in Italy and abroad. Starting in great style, therefore, with an event that in past editions has been able to attract the attention of millions of enthusiasts spread across every corner of the world.

There is therefore great anticipation for the traditional lighting of the fire of Sant'Antuono, carried out at 0.00 on Wednesday, January 17th, at the AVPN headquarters in Capodimonte, by the general secretary Paolo Surace which will kick off the Vera Pizza Day 2024 for a unique journey discovering the many faces of pizza. As many as 16 countries are involved with a program of 22 masterclasses, all to be experienced in live streaming on the Youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Leos1XhwgEA, from 0:00 to 24:00 on January 17th.

“It is our first event of 2024says Antonio Pace, AVPN Presidentwhich kicks off a year of celebrations on the occasion of our fortieth anniversary. Vera Pizza Day is the event that perhaps best embodies our desire to spread true Neapolitan pizza everywhere, confirming pizza as the most loved food product in the world and an increasingly global phenomenon that has no geographical or linguistic boundaries. These are core values that we have always believed in and which, this year more than ever, constitute the leitmotif of all the upcoming events scheduled. All on a date, January 17th, which was particularly significant for us also because it was the one we chose for the inauguration of our Capodimonte headquarters. It is therefore a source of satisfaction for us to be able to underline how this date, that was long forgotten, has then become the anniversary that celebrates pizza throughout the world."

Many events will enliven the fourth edition of Vera Pizza Day, which this year sees the patronage of the Campania Region and the Municipality of Naples. We start in Australia with the first masterclass, 0.30 am Italian time, and then move on to Japan, Chile, USA East Coast, China, USA West Coast, Egypt, Turkey, France, Germany, Poland, Spain, United Kingdom, Brazil, Canada, Peru, Italy and again Poland and the United States. Two new entries: the first masterclass in Chinese and the double meeting from South America (Chile and Peru).

The journey goes on with “Un abbinamento verace” (“A verace pairing”), the masterclass held by Massimo Di Porzio (Vice President AVPN), Tommaso Luongo (President AIS Campania), Antonio Grasso and Salvatore Salvo which acts as a preview of the food pairing project, conceived by AVPN in collaboration with AIS Campania.

The marathon goes on with "La Verace senza confini" (“Verace without boundaries”), 3.30 pm, a conference on the importance of spreading pizza around the world as a driver of territorial, tourist and economic development, with which the collaboration with the Univerde Foundation, directed by Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio, is renewed. The talk will be combined with the assignment of the Sant'Antuono Awards, the recognition dedicated to communicators, journalists and all those who have particularly distinguished themselves in the dissemination of the culture of Neapolitan pizza. In conclusion, a space dedicated to the event's partners to reflect on how much the pizza sector affects their business, especially in relation to the expansion of the pizza universe which continues to conquer new international markets.

The conference and the Vera Pizza Day initiative sees the participation of international partners such as Molino Dallagiovanna, Le 5 Stagioni, Molino Denti, Cirio, Latteria Sorrentina, Gi.Metal and Woody Brikkets. Technical partners of the initiative are the three young companies Jungle Juice ADV, Sokan Communication and Branding Records.
