During the month of May, all four neighborhood locations of Tutta Bella Neapolitan Pizzerias have pledged a dollar-for-dollar donation match of up to $5,000 for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief. The restaurant teams, looking for a way to help, will pair each guest contribution with an equal amount of their funds, hoping to reach upwards of $10,000. At month´s end, a check will be presented to Mercy Corps to bring the needed emergency supplies and care to the devastated citizens most affected by the recent natural disasters in northeastern Japan.
Tutta Bella has a strong tie to Japan through the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (VPN), founded in 1984 with representation in 17 countries. Outside of Italy, Japan shares the distinction along with the United States of having 35 or more certified pizzerias, says Joyce Morinaka, Director of Operations for Tutta Bella.
