If you loathe choosing between a pepperoni pizza and a foot-long hot dog, Pizza Hut UK has your number. One-upping America's cheese-stuffed crust, the British chain is cramming a juicy hot dog into the edges of a pie. The only thing more disgusting, says Mat Honan at Gizmodo, is that we Americans didn't invent this monstrosity first. Fear not. Here are 8 other fast-food combos that may put us back on the fat map.
In 2010, KFC introduced the world to a new low in stunt food with the "Double Down," a fried-chicken-meets-sandwich mutation. Bacon, American cheese, and a dollop of special mayonnaise-like sauce are layered between two slabs of deep fried chicken in lieu of actual bread. The sandwich is "so meaty, there's no room for a bun," says KFC.It's hard to pinpoint exactly which element puts the Krispy Kreme burger over the top and maybe that's the point. This dinner-dessert combo uses two glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut in lieu of buns to grip a hunk of hamburger, cheese, and all the trimmings. If you can't get to a state fair for this treat, Paula Deen has, naturally, come up with her own recipe, dubbed the "Lady's Lunch Burger."
