An amount of product of nearly 1.3 million tonnes, with a turnover for consumption of almost 12 billion euros: it’s with these numbers that at the end of 2012, the Italian system of agricultural food production of certified quality presents itself, once again leading global sector for number of certified products, with 248 products registered in the EU register of which 154 PDO, PGI 92, 2 STG. If the podium rated by Qualivita (www.qualivita.it), is occupied by the Parmigiano Reggiano, Grana Padano and Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, good news for the products of Campania too and in particular for the Buffalo Mozzarella, firmly at number 7, with € 214 million in sales to domestic production, 558 million euro of turnover for consumption and € 75 million of export turnover. In other areas, there was a sharp increase in production of Tomato S. Marzano of Agro Sarnese-Nocerino PDO.
